Niagara Falls Travel Guide
This 'City of Champions' is situated across from the Niagara River and is located in the best spot to see Niagara Falls, thus making this small town one of the world's most popular places to visit. Niagara Falls also offers many tourist attractions and historic sites to complete this majestic experience.
The Horseshoe Falls and American Falls are separated by Goat Island and each of the falls has its own curved shape, gorges and scenic views. Even though you may only see the Canadian Horseshoe Falls from the American side, it is highly recommended to see the falls from all angles. Every perspective is truly breathtaking.
The Iroquois tribe were the first inhabitants until the 1670s when Europeans began settlement. Tourism became popular in the early 19th century and the city soon became the honeymoon capital of the world.
Niagara Falls Tourist Attractions
The city has many activities to keep their visitors happy. There are several tours that can give you a birds-eye view of Niagara Falls from a helicopter or get to the foot of the falls by boat.
Enjoy Niagara Falls State Park and experience Canadian wildlife and flora. Or take in a museum or two: the Carousel Museum or Niagara Aerospace Museum. Take in some of Niagara's greatest wines along the Wine Trail. Tours and tasting are excellent ways to spend an afternoon.
To complete the evening, the Seneca Niagara Casino is very popular with tourists and locals alike. With entertainment, shopping and many fine restaurants, one can have the overall experience that will not soon be forgotten.
TransportAround Niagara Falls
Even though Niagara Falls has an international airport, it's primarily used for private or chartered flights. Buffalo-Niagara International Airport is only 30 minutes away by car and offers daily flights throughout North America on many major airlines.
Niagara Falls is a safe town and the people are friendly and accommodating. Do keep in mind before travelling to a foreign country that it is highly recommended to take out travel insurance. In the event of an accident or illness, medical expenses can be very costly. Travel insurance can provide you and your family assurance that your trip will be the most memorable.
