San Antonio is situated in the large state of Texas, San Antonio is a beautiful city with much to offer tourists. With a large Hispanic community, San Antonio is blessed with a mixed cultural heritage that is celebrated through its many events, festivals, cuisine and drink.

In San Antonio there are a great deal of interesting sites to see including the Aztec on the River, which is a historic theatre built in 1926 that enjoys fantastic musicals and shows year round. The River Walk is an enjoyable area day and night with a plethora of activities and entertainment options from boutique shops to fine dining restaurants and an IMAX theatre.

Just outside the city there is Sea World Entertainment Park, which is home to a large killer whale, penguins, sharks, dolphins, seals and many more animals. For exciting theme park rides head to Six Flags Fiesta Texas, which has some of the country's fastest and scariest roller coasters.

There are some great events in San Antonio throughout the year including Fiesta, which is a fun-filled family event with a host of multicultural celebrations and displays. The festival is the largest of its kind in the state of Texas and attracts thousands of people from all over. The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo held in February is also an exciting event with some interesting shows and a host of animals.

Transport Around San Antonio

San Antonio International Airport is a located just a half an hour's bus ride from downtown. The airport is serviced by airlines flying to most major cities in America and also Canada. There is a train station in the city on Hoefgen street and Amtrak offers many routes from all over the country. Greyhound buses also offer a variety of connections. By car there are many interstates and highways leading to San Antonio including the I-35, I-10 and US-281.

The city of San Antonio is relatively safe with a low crime rate, but as with all cities care and common sense should be exercised. It is advised to stay in the well-lit busy areas when walking the streets at night to avoid any problems. There are some incidences of car theft so be careful if you are driving. We recommend purchasing travel insurance for you and your family before your holiday to avoid any unforeseen problems.
