2009 World Alpine Championships - Val d'Isere France
The International Ski Federation have announced that the french ski resort of Val d'Isere will host the 2009 Alpine World Championships. Beating off stiff competition from other resorts Val d'Isere will use the Bellevarde face for the mens races and the Solaise face for the womens races. A new stadium is to be built which will house a press centre a car park and shopping area.
22nd February – 1st March 2009 FIS Ski World Cup
Bankso will be hosting this event by staging two events Of the Women’s’ World Ski Cup.
The Downhill and a Super Giant Slalom at Banderitsa Track in Bankso, Bulgaria.
An exciting and challenging event for many of the worlds Greatest skiers coming back to Bankso after an absence of 25 years from the international ski competition circuit.
March 2-8 2009 – FIS Freestyle World Championships
The Japanese town of Inawashiro will host the 2009 Freestyle Championships with over 30 nations taking part. The event is organized by the International Ski Federation. Freestyle skiing has become associated with this location and the event will attract world class skiers and spectators who will really appreciate the exciting spectacle of world class athletes competing in a range of Events.
The facilities include - Ariels; Listel Ski Fantasia Ski Cross; The Centre Area of Snow Paradise Inawashiro Alfpipe and Alts Bandai
