About the Resort
This is the home of the skiing package holiday. Although it is not the easiest location to get to it is worth it for the beautiful scenery and good snow conditions. It can only be reached by cable car from Stechenbeg or Funicular and then railway from Lauterbrunnen. It is traffic free and has a good sports centre and everything is within walking distance.
About the Mountains near Murren
The slopes are varied if a little limited in number. It is a great area for the expert skier with a number if interconnecting runs that thrill rather than frighten. The intermediate will feel comfortable with the snow sure area below the Engetal. Beginners will struggle to find enough easy runs to graduate from once they have exhausted the adequate nursery slopes.
Après Ski at Murren
The mountain restaurants can be patchy in both service and food. Most eating out takes place in hotels if not in the mountains. The apres ski consists of discos and bars with the occasional trendy cocktail bar.
