About the Resort
This resort, although it has a compact centre tends to sprawl out widely with chalets scattered over a large area. Is a pretty and unspoiled French village with old churches and a weekly market in the village square close to Mont Blanc.
About the Mountains near Les Contamines
Most of the slopes are above the tree line and there are some great views. The resort has a good reputation for snow reliability late into the season. The steep western section has some black runs but nearly all the runs are suitable for the intermedate skier except the more timid might find some of the blue runs a bit tricky. The village nursery area is adequate for beginners.
Après Ski at Les Contamines
There are quite a few lovely rustic mountain restaurants not all marked on the piste map. There are a number of creperies in town. The apres ski is fairly quiet but there are several bars to enjoy with weekly events organised. You could take part in a number of non ski activities such as snow shoeing and dog sledding.
