Technical difficulties have caused substantial delays for Jetblue passengers flying this weekend.

According to a Bloomberg report published on Friday, the low-cost carrier’s computer systems suffered setback in the early morning hours, affecting about 60 domestic flits scheduled to depart from John F. Kennedy airport in New York.

Jetblue spokesman Anders Lindstrom told the media that poor weather conditions also caused a number of disruptions; according to airline tracking service Flight Aware, more tan 220 of the airline’s flights saw delays of 15 minutes or longer through Friday.

Meanwhile, Chicago-based United Airlines reportedly sold thousands of free tickets by mistake on Thursday due to a computer error on the company’s website. Officials from the carrier have said that all of the tickets will be honoured.

Those lucky enough to scoop up the ‘special’ fares were still required to pay the airport security charge of about $5 for each return ticket and $2.50 for each one-way ticket.
