About the Resort

This resort started life as a railway town and the railway is still very much part of the resorts life, it brings skiers from Denver to the slopes that are some of the best in the US. Most of the accommodation is a bus ride away. Although some slope side accommodation has been developed lately. It does a variety of restaurants and shops.

About the Mountains near Winter Park

The main base links to five well linked sectors offering a variety of runs. There are some hair raising moguls to keep the expert happy as well as some great open terrain. The intermediates will find runs to suit their particular ability, from easy gentle well groomed to the bumpy ungroomed powder runs. Beginners have the use of a 25 acre dedicated area reached by a high speed quad and two more chairs.

There are some interesting mountain restaurants with an increasing choice f venues. Although the village can become a bit lifeless in the evening it does have a varied and interesting mix of eateries offering pasta to steaks and seafood. Apres ski is also varied and not too expensive, althought lacking in the glitz and glamour of some resorts.
