About the Resort

Kitzbuhel is a large and attractive town with a traffic free medieval center. It is set at a juction of broad and pretty valleys. It's downhill course Hahnenkamm is the most spectacular on the World Cup Circuit. The drawback is the fact that the ski area suffers the effects of its low altitude and poor snow as a result. There is a lot of lower priced accommodation available and it often attracts younger people looking for it well known partying night life.

About the Mountains near Kitzbuhel

It has an extensive range of slopes which it shares with Kirchberg. Mostly, they face north east or north west and are divided into five areas the two biggest of which should soon be linked by a new 30 person gondola. The Kitzbuheler Horn is accessed by a gondola starting close to the railway station which is quite a way from the center. The small and sunny Bichlalm area is now off piste accessed by a single peron chair with a snow cat to take you 980 ft higher. The resort is not ideal for beginners.

A good selection of mountain restaurants offering good food and sunny terraces, this resort is popular with regulars looking for more than just snow. A good range of eateries offering all types of food to suit all pockets make it a hit with younger visitors who frequent the lively bars. There are enough small quiet bars to keep the parents happy.
