About the Resort

This resort has one of the best glaciers inthe world which is open in summer as well as winter. The resort is made up of a small collection of hotels and guest houses. The valley has broad appeal since the lower slopes of above Lanersback and its nearby twin Vorderlanersbach were linked by fast new lifts with those above Mayerhofen and Finkenberg down in the Zillertal, to form a good sized circuit. The glacier is a 20 minute bus ride away. The resort has invested in new lifts and has some good off piste opportunities.

About the Mountains near Hintertux

The slopes are fairly extensive and challenging. The glacier is one of the best in the world and has caried terrain that attracts national ski teamns that train there in the summer. Three gondolas take you up from the base to the top of the glacier in under 20 minutes. Between the top of glacier and Tuxer Ferner Haus ther are futher chairs and drag lifts that link to a another vertical chain of lisfs below Grosser Kaserer on the west. There is a lot here to keep the expert skier happy with a lot of off piste routes under used. There is a valley level nursery slope and the resort is particularly good for intermediates.

Après Ski at Hintertux

Mountain restaurants are mostly rustic and self service based. A quiet night life with a few wine bars and restuarants mainly hotel based.There is a free night bus that takes you to and from other villages until 2am.
