British Airways has announced plans to add additional frequency to its route between Heathrow and Hyderabad in India.

An official press release issued by the carrier on Tuesday said that the firm would begin offering daily service between the two cities beginning on 27 October with the addition of flights BA276 and BA277.

The carrier has commissioned one of its three-cabin Boeing 777 aircraft for the new service, officials said in the release. Flights will depart Heathrow Terminal 5 each day at 0655 BST and will return to the UK capital from India the following morning just before 0500.

India is the second-largest long-haul market for British Airways after North America. In addition to Hyderabad, BA operates 46 flights weekly to New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai.

Christopher Fordyce, BA’s regional commercial manager, told the media that the move comes after the airline saw a substantial rise in popularity on the route after frequency was increased to six times weekly.
