Travel Insurance for High Cholesterol

High cholestrol is a condition where fatty deposits known as lipid build up in your blood vessels which can increase your chances of developing cardiovascular disease. It is a very common condition and as many as 2 in every 3 adults in the UK have cholesterol levels higher than the government recommendation. In fact the UK population has one of the highest average cholesterol concentrations in the world.

Medical Screening for High Cholesterol

If you have high cholesterol you have an increased risk of heart attacks and strokes because cholesterol can build up in the artery wall, restricting the flow of blood to your heart, brain and the rest of your body. It also increases the chance of a blood clot developing. So we will therefore need to determine the severity of your condition. When you get to section 4 in our booking process you will be asked a number of questions. These questions are really straightforward. You will then be given a quote for any additional premium (cost), to include high cholesterol insurance on your policy.

At this point you can accept the additional premium, which will then mean once you have paid you are covered for your high cholesterol. You can also decide to decline the additional cover at this point, which would mean that you will still be covered for standard medical cover, but would not be covered for anything related to high cholesterol.
