Ski Clothing - Base Layer

The following articles, in general, form the base layer to your clothing.

  • Long johns - Thermal
  • Vest - Thermal
  • Glove liners - Silk
  • Sock liners - Silk
  • Balaclava Helmet
  • Hat Liner

The base layer should fit snugly without restricting your movement, it should be in close contact with your skin so that any perspiration and moisture vapour are then picked up quickly by using pressure from the body and moving it away to the next layer. Cotton fabrics are not reccommended for this as it tends to soak up any moisture and then act as a weight against your skin which does not help if you become cold.
