Kirkwood Ski Resort Guide

About the Resort

To reach this resort you would need to drive from South Lake Tahoe and this involves two passes with the threat of heavy snow closing the road. It has a small village atmosphere with the ski in ski out apartment arrangement. It sits at the centre of a semi circle of slopes and has a lightly wooded top and more densely wooded bottom. There is a recreation centre with pool, spa and sundeck.

About the Mountains near Kirkwood

The lift system at this resort is mostly of the slow chair variety. There are two long lifts that access a bowl to the left and righ of the main one. It is a good resort for expert skiers. Intermediates will find enough to challenge them and beginners won't feel too left out either. This is a snow sure mini resort with something for everyone.

Après Ski at Kirkwood

The apres ski is limited to the size of the resort and not best suited to the party animals.
