About the Resort

This resort has been trying hard to hang on to its visitors by improving its down side. The pistes can become very over crowded and queues are a problem still. The improvements lie withing the grooming and snowmaking side. Verbier is a sprawling place with a mish mash of architecture with most accomodation chalets based. It is a one end of a long series of slopes linking to Nendaz and Veysonnaz,Thyon as well as other resorts. There is a frequent free bus service which is handy because parking is tightly controlled.

About the Mountains near Verbier

Verbier is essentialy a high mountain resort with wooded slopes directly above the village. These runs tend to be bumpy. The expert skier is the one to benefit from this resort. It has some tough slopes often off piste and needing a guide. The intermediate will have the advantage over the beginner who will struggle to progress beyond the basic nursery slopes.

Après Ski at Verbier

The mountain restaurants can become very overcrowded during the peak season and this isn't great when there aren't that many in the first place. You will need to book in advance. Apres ski begins early and it can be expensive. Varied and lively you have the choice of loud pubs and cafes serving afternoon tea as well as live music and classy hotel bars.
