This is an area of more than one resort. The main ones are Champoluc in the west, Alagna, which is the main resort, to the east and Gressoney in the central valley, the resort is a clutch of pretty villages in an uncommercial setting. The area benefits from a good lift system and small shops and hotels.
About the Mountains near Monterosa Ski
It is a popular area with Italian day trippers and offers good skiing for intermediates who will enjoy the well groomed and scenic slopes as long as they are not in a hurrey to graduate to the expert league. The expert may wish to venture off piste for the more challenging runs - guide's recommended! Beginners will not find it easy to progress to more gentle blues.
Après Ski at Monterosa Ski
This resort's apres ski is civilised. There are bars and a few mountain restaurants albeit slightly basic.
