About the Resort

This is a charming traditional village with a traffic free centre that includes attractive shops and well preserved buildings. This resort is popular with the fashion conscious and people watching is a local sport. It is a large village with its own cable car but it is a fair distance from the most of the accommodation.

About the Mountains near Courmayeur

You have to ride a cable car to the slopes. Both of its sections are mostly suited to the intermediate skier. Val Veny has interesting tree lined and varied slopes with very good views. The expert will struggle if they are looking for variation on a theme, as the slopes are mostly for intermediates. There is only one black run and little in the way of moguls anywhere. Although there are a few nursery slopes, it is not the best resort for begginers as the area is consistantly steep.

Après Ski at Courmayeur

There is a good choice of restaurant mostly self service but serving very tasty food. Snack bars and table service are also available amongst the 25 or so establishments. Apres ski is stylish and lively. A choice of cocktail bars and clubs that attract dancing.
