About the Resort

This is a purpose build resort which is traffic free and generally has the best snow in the Portes du Soleil. From the edge of the horse drawn sleighs or snowcats transport people from car parks to the accommodation. It is a compact place with everything close at hand. The village is set on a slope and has accommodation spread out onto outlying hamlets of Ardent and Les Podains. It has lifts and pistes fanning out from all directions.

About the Mountains near Avoriaz

Avoriaz is high but its slopes don't go much higher. The problem in the past was a lack of snow but that has been readrressed with more snow guns. Tough terrain is scattered around with some interesting runs. Some sections lack variety but if there is good snow then the area boasts a good supply of pretty runs. Beginners will find the nursery slopes a bit small in relation to the size of the resort.

There are some good bars to enjoy with plenty over 30 restaurants offering good quality food to choose from.
