Canada Ski Resort Guide for Kicking Horse
Kicking Horse Ski Resort Guide
About the Resort of Kicking Horse
This resort is in the early stages of development. It provides good terrain for experts and intermediates alike. The mountain village as a resort is gradually being extended to include more lodges. There are self catering condos and a hotel but many people prefer to stay at nearby Golden which is 8 miles away.
About the Mountains near Kicking Horse
The expert skier and confident intermediary will find the terrain most enjoyable with powdery snow high up reached by a eight seater gondola. The lower half of the mountain does have great black runs and moguls on cleared trails through the trees. Intermediates may find the ungroomed slopes too much to handle if recently graduated from the blues and greens. Beginners should look elsewhere.
Après Ski at Kicking Horse
The apres ski is limited and most people opt for a visit to Golden for their meals and visits to the pub.
