Austria Ski Resort Guide for Alpbach
About the Resort
A pretty resort that is near the head of a valley. It has traditional chalets and the main village is a good place to stay for atmosphere and apres ski. It does mean having to use the free shuttle bus to and form the main gondola in Achenwirt a mile away. The resort is very good for young children and has a good varied, intermediate terrain although the slopes can be limited in extent and variety. There are only a few easy runs for beginners to progress to. The low altitude can mean poor snow. The Inn Valley is a few miles away and trips east to Kitzbuhl and west tp Innsbruck are possible.

The slopes in Alpbach are small and simple. The piste grooming is very good. The resort is not ideal for experts but the intermediate would certainly have a good time there. It is a resort that is good for practising technique and not really for high mileage trips. The sunny nursery slopes are ideal for beginners but the main slopes are not great for confidence building.
Après Ski at Alpbach
