Russian airline Transaero has reached a new agreement with UK-based low-cost carrier Easyjet.

According to a Breaking Travel News report published on Wednesday, officials from the two airlines – including Transaero chief executive Olga Pleshakova and Easyjet CFO Chris Kennedy – met midday to confirm a new codeshare deal that will allow Transaero customers to book seats on select Easyjet flights.

Pleshakova said in a statement that her company was very glad to launch a commercial relationship with Easyjet and that it would provide Transaero customers with better choice. She went on to add that the move would allow Gatwick customers to easily reach Moscow’s Domodedovo airport and the firm’s extensive route network to outlying destinations in Russia and Asia.

Similarly, Easyjet’s group commercial director Catherine Lynn told the media that the airline was pleased to be working with Transaero and that the company currently operates two daily return flights between Gatwick and Moscow Domodedovo.
