British Airways’ Leeds Bradford flights will move terminals at Heathrow beginning in the spring.

The carrier said in an official release that the shift from Terminal 1 will take place on 31 March in order to allow for quicker connections to more than 100 destinations available from its Terminal 5 hub.

“We often take the opportunity to change flight frequencies and timings at the season boundaries and we are delighted that we are able to move the Leeds Bradford flights to T5 next summer, just three months after the route launch,” says Jim Keegan, BA’s regional customer service manager. He adds, “It means our Yorkshire customers can enjoy a quick and seamless journey through our dedicated terminal at Heathrow.”

Managing director Tony Hallwood of Leeds Bradford airport has similar sentiments. He said in a statement, “British Airways decision to transfer Leeds Bradford services into T5 will help to transform the worldwide travel plans of Yorkshire's regional businesses and leisure travellers. With a wide choice of connecting destinations now on offer from Heathrow there has never been a better time to fly locally from Yorkshire’s gateway airport. Leeds Bradford’s new direct connection into Heathrow’s Terminal 5 will now offer a reduced transfer time of just 60 minutes and provide even quicker and easier access to British Airways' worldwide network.”
