Japanese carrier ANA was forced to delay its inaugural Boeing 787 flight from Seattle to Tokyo this week.

A spokeswoman for the airline said that the flight had been set back as a result of a faulty component in the jet’s cooling systems. The flight was originally set to depart SeaTac airport at 13:15 local time on Monday, but was rescheduled to depart at the same time on Tuesday to allow the carrier enough time to replace the faulty component.

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is still only operated by a handful of carriers worldwide as the rollout of the state-of-the-art jet continues after three years of production delays. Earlier this year, ANA became the first airline to receive the jet and to put it into commercial service.

Monday’s delay came despite a substantial ceremony to mark the inaugural flight, which saw fire trucks greet the aircraft with an arch of high-pressure water after it arrived at the airport on Monday morning to replace the Boeing 777 previously used for the route.

According to ANA spokeswoman Jean Saito, the new part was taken off of another Dreamliner.
