London man Tom Moss, who is 26, has been left stranded in Thailand after he was paralyzed by injuries suffered in a road accident. Mr Moss, has lost 35 per cent of his eyesight, has suffered major brain injuries and cannot move from the neck down. His family are worried his condition could deteriorate if they cannot quickly raise £35,000 needed to fly him back to the UK. If his condition does worsen, bringing him home would require a dedicated air ambulance. His family has managed so far to raise £4,000 but say they would not be able to find the £85,000 it would cost for the specialised air ambulance.

Moss went to Thailand early this year. He spent six months travelling the country in his dream holiday but two weeks ago, his moped was involved in a collision with a truck and two cars in the northern city of Chiang Mai. Mr Moss had travel insurance when he arrived but after he chose to extend his stay, the policy expired. Mr Moss also suffered broken bones in his face and jaw. According to his sister, he actually died at the scene but paramedics battled for seven minutes and managed to revive him. The length of time his brain was starved of oxygen caused significant damage.
