A recent research by Go Travel Insurance reveals that consumers put topmost priority to the level and quality of cover offered by their insurance company over the actual policy cost.

When asked what factor is the most essential in choosing travel insurance, most customers ranked the level of policy cover on top, with the insurance price placed second and family recommendations came next.

According also to the survey, the quality of cover is mainly important for snowboard and ski enthusiasts, with most of them invest in travel insurance as the winter season is getting under way.

Skiing is considered as one of the most costly family holiday breaks, resulting in families to cut travel costs by trying not to arrange any insurance before travelling. According to the study, 25 per cent of the UK tourists still continue to travel during holidays without insurance.

Winter sports insurance from Go Travel includes cover for snowboarding and skiing, hospitalization expense of up to £10 million pounds, and a 24-hour emergency helpline – which could be particularly useful if travellers are in a non-English speaking country. As an added bonus for families, children are similarly covered for free on single trip policies under Go Travel.

Go Travel is a division of Drakefield Insurance Services, which is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. The company has been selling holiday insurance since 2000. It offers both single and annual travel policies; and provides a web-based system for medical screening and payment, and a call centre to handle customer inquiries.
