In a recent poll budget airline was revealed to be the worst family brand in Britain, much to the dismay of chief executive Michael O’Leary.

The results of this year’s FamilyBrands poll are out and in the poll a number of well-known companies were ranked by 1,500 British people, scoring points for aspects such as how they treat families and the general perception of their social responsibility.

Ryanair ranked badly as they have been introducing strict new measures to cut costs and are perceived to be doing little to promote family values, while also ignoring the needs and wishes of customers.

However, it seems that Ryanair are unwilling to take the feelings of the nation too much to heart. In a recent statement, Ryanair spokesman Stephen McNamara said that: "These 'surveys' are about as reliable and scientific as the surveys on Family Fortunes. Ryanair is Europe's largest airline and our guaranteed lowest fares allow more UK families than ever before to turn their dream of a family holiday into a reality. With 66 million passengers this year we deliver the 'value' that every UK family wants – unbeatable low fares and a no fuel surcharge guarantee.”

The poll revealed the ten least popular Family Brands in Britain this year to be Ryanair followed by British Midland, BMI Baby, Twitter, Royal Bank of Scotland, Domino's Pizza, Halifax Bank of Scotland, Burger King, easyJet and finally, PlayStation.

It would seem that all of these companies will have to work hard next year if they want to win their way back into the hearts of the British people, and continue to turn a profit in the increasingly competitive trade market.
