Good news for holiday makers next year; many tour companies and travel agents have announced that they intend to freeze their low prices, even if the financial situation improves in Great Britain.

This summer, the travel industry was forced to cut costs and offer deals in order to tempt holidays makers, due mostly to the global recession. However, there are signs that the things may soon improve in Britain as the recession comes to a close.

This week, Britain's principal tour operator has announced that it will maintain the cheap holiday deals in 2010 if exchange rates persist in improving.

"We are looking at a possibility of no price increases in January," Dermot Blastland, managing director of Tui UK told the media. "Hopefully, there will be a different economic backdrop." The new travel magazines will be released in January and are set to reflect the rising value of the pound.

"Understandably the holiday market is much more price-sensitive than in recent years, but this response to exchange rates is still remarkable," Trevor Davis, director of retail distribution at The Co-operative Travel commented in a recent interview.

So start saving for those two weeks in the sun next year because from the looks of things there should be plenty of great deals on offer.
