Airlines in the UK and USA are changing their sales pitch this month in order to try to regain some of the business they have been steadily losing. Passengers have had a wide range of deals to choose from in the last few months, ranging from huge discounts to free tickets and an increase in air miles.

However, it seems that business travellers are the new target, as studies have shown that it is actually the drop in business travel that is causing air figures to plummet.

"For starters, business travelers are airlines' most profitable customers, often buying first-class seats or pricey last-minute fares. When those people stopped traveling, airlines cut fares to fill seats with leisure travelers, meaning that side of the business also became less lucrative,” a travel consultant commented to USA Today recently.

Although the airline seem to be keeping close lipped about their plans, things should get quite interesting over the next few months as the top airlines compete to find the most tempting offers.

So, if you’re a frequent business traveller it could be time to return to the skies. Keep a keen eye out for the best deals and offers as there are sure to be plenty flying your way.
