Which – the independent expert advice consumer guardian has this month released its latest finding on the best buys in the travel insurance sector.

Their research collected 3,500 quotes from 106 insurers. All policies had to meet their minimum criteria for travel insurance which included a minimum £2 million medical & repatriation cover worldwide, a minimum of £3,000 cancellation cover, £1,500 baggage cover and at least £1 million personal liability cover.

Their research also found that typical excesses on policies varied from £35 - £75 for each section but some companies charged as much as £250. Cheaptravelinsurance.com excess for the product listed is just £50.
