This morning the Foreign Office is advising against all but essential travel to Mexico, where swine flu is believed to have claimed over 100 lives.

Britons on holiday or resident in Mexico are now advised to consider leaving the country.

Already holiday companies are reacting to the news and two flights due for Mexico today from Gatwick and Manchester have been cancelled by Thomson Holidays. A spokesman said: "While we do appreciate that the new news may be a great disappointment to customers, we hope they will also understand that their health and safety is of paramount importance to us."

Thomson also confirmed that they were already organising repatriation fights back to the UK for holidaymakers currently in Mexico.
