Womads, a family friendly festival will be staging a return to Taranaki during March 2009. Set in the lovely surrounds of Brooklands Zoo, the week end 13th -15th will include a fabulous mix of sights and sounds in the Brooklands Park and TSB Bowl in New Plymouth. An exciting new addition to the event is a festival in the Sustainable Village which will be located in the Kunming Garden area. This will showcase products and methods that will support a sustainable lifestyle.

There will be workshops to attend along with the exhilarating music including some for the younger attendees aged from 5 to 12 in the Kidzone. Workshops on offer will allow you to explore your vocal range and have fun trying out new dance moves, even if you have two left feet.

There’s a chance to shop in the Global Village where you will find more than 80 stands trading with a diverse and interesting range of wonderful arts and crafts, food and tasty beverages. You can also enjoy sampling food in the Taste the World where the artists will join in, putting down their musical instruments and picking up their cooking pots. The whole event will be brought alive with anecdotes and tales from the artists own home countries.
