Paradiski ends
Travel Insurance News - 30/01/2008

The two resorts of La Plagne and Les Arcs were joined together in 2003 with the express idea of providing the chance for skiers to be able to ski through a vast area of 425km of piste. The combined area was the largest in the world.

In November a problem was discovered by the company operating the cable car that serviced the area. The company, however, did not inform the public of its impending decision to close the car and many skiers were left feeling put out that they would be unable to ski on both areas whilst using their six day Paradiski ski pass at a cost of 237 Euros. The car was billed as "the safest cable car ever built". Some ski companies ahve been badly affected by the closure. Tour operators such as Club Med, Ski Beat and Ski Olympic have built hotels and chalets in the area to provide low cost holidays to budget conscious skiers
