Flyglobespan to bridge Bristol and Toronto

May 26th 2008 is the first day that Flyglobespan will begin operations of its new flight route from Bristol Airport and Canada's largest city, Toronto, Ontario. The flights will depart from Bristol and land at Hamilton International Airport, a city a short drive from Toronto on the northern shore of Lake Ontario.
The weekly flight will depart every Monday, with return fares starting at ₤315. Statements from both the Flyglobespan chairman, Tom Dalrymple and Bristol Airport spokesman Tony Hallwood paint a positive picture about the new route, despite a failure of a similar launch and subsequent cancellation of Bristol-New York flights.
Dalrymple, commenting on the new route, says, 'We are delighted to be offering passengers from Bristol flights to Toronto. We know the market in Canada very well and this knowledge, combined with our ability to offer great fares, gives us a great product.'
In a similar vain, Hallwood echoes, 'Securing a second transatlantic service is fantastic news and underlines Bristol International's long-haul credentials. Canada is one of the destinations most frequently requested by our passengers, so we are delighted to be able to deliver a weekly service from next May.'
