Brits suffer poor health and injuries abroad

Consumer watchdog, Holiday Travel Watch, have said it has received record numbers of complaints from travellers who are suffering ill health whilst holidaying abroad and also in the UK at Butlins holiday camp in Bognor Regis where 75 people were taken ill with gastric illnesses. The organisation helps travellers pursue grievances and has been receiving up to 60 calls every day during the peak summer season. The calls range from complaints regarding cockroach infestation to hotel swiming pool problems. The level of calls are the highest since the mid 1990's and the level of serious complaints is giving cause for concern.
Complaints against hotels include those in the Dominican Republic which has resulted in legal action over dozens of holiday makers falling ill, Morocco, Tunisia and southern Spain have also seen an increase in complaints. Holiday Travel Watch have advised that holiday makers should be vigilant about hotel hygene and to seek urgent medical attention if they fall ill. Travellers should always make sure they have comprehensive travel insurance
