Travellers choose China for spirit of adventure
Travel Insurance News - 23/03/2006

Britons are increasingly venturing to the rugged and remote destinations of China, as their favoured choice of 'intrepid' vacation, according to new research.

A poll by Intrepid Travel showed that the ancient attractions of the Forbidden City and the Great Wall have helped the country win the approval of 80 per cent of adventurous holiday travellers.

"The magic of the Middle Kingdom is still very much alive, conjuring images from towering limestone karsts to the deserts of the Silk Road," said Jen Bird of Intrepid Travel.

China's rising popularity helped Asia come out strongly on top when respondents selected the continent they most associated with adventure holidays, with holidaymakers identifying the chance to see spectacular attractions as their key concern.

UK residents venturing on outward bound trips to the hidden delights of the east can get themselves covered for any emergencies in remote locations by checking out a range of travel insurance deals online.
