Consumers nervous of exchange transactions
Travel Insurance News - 07/03/2006

A new survey reveals wide uncertainty among consumers about engaging in foreign exchange transactions when travelling abroad.

Research by Saga Travel Money shows that 36 per cent of holidaymakers feel uncomfortable when handing over large amounts of cash.

Many respondents confessed to feelings of vulnerability and said they became highly aware of others in the queue, with 22 per cent fearing that the transaction put their security at risk.

Almost a third (30 per cent) of those polled said they would feel safer if they took a friend along.

With demand for air travel over the Easter break set to rise this year, consumers could cover themselves against the need for complicated exchange transactions by taking out travel insurance cover, which offers protection against a range of unforeseen emergencies.

Holidaymakers can check out the range of competitive travel insurance deals by looking online.
