A list of the world's top ten most interesting and affordable holiday destinations has been published, naming a variety of locations from across the different continents.
The latest travel guide by world renowned Frommer's named an array of places that are up-and-coming, which are as yet not overly swamped with tourists and where cheap holiday deals can still be found.
The US was heavily featured, with Amador County in California, Charleston in South Carolina, Molokai in Hawaii and Ramah in New Mexico all making the list.
Indeed, the majority of the destinations were in the Americas, with Brazil and Venezuela also represented by Belem and Margarita respectively.
Of the remaining four spots, Oceania was represented by Tasmania in Australia, Asia by Goa in India, Africa by Kenya's game parks and Europe by, rather surprisingly, Glasgow.
If you want to visit one of these places to see if they match the hype in the travel guide, it is important to get travel insurance to cover any mishaps or accidents. You can also acquire backpackers travel insurance if you want to visit a number of them.
