People looking to take a vacation abroad this year will be encouraged by new research which shows average prices falling in many popular resorts.
A study by Co-op Travelcare reveals that fares to foreign destinations have been lowered by up to 25 per cent. The price for an adult to travel to Agadir in Morocco for a week's break, for instance, has decreased from £561 last year to £417, a reduction of £144.
Other examples include Barcelona, where the average price is down 17 per cent from £446 to £348 and Taba in Egypt, which has seen a fall of 13 per cent from £630 to £548.
In response, travel agents have identified currency fluctuations and increased accommodation as the main reason as to why some resorts are lowering prices by unprecedented amounts.
Mike Greenacre, head of The Co-operative Travel Trading Group, said: 'The holiday market is constantly evolving and each year we see prices fall in certain destinations.'
If you want to take advantage of these reduced fares remember to cover accidents or mishaps by purchasing travel insurance.
Also, if you can now afford to take more than one short break, getting an annual travel insurance policy will save you money.
