Many Brits have literally been infected with the travel bug, new research reveals today.
According to Norwich Union Travel, 58 per cent of thrill seeking travellers said they were keen to try more unorthodox foreign delicacies, such as witchetty grubs, snakes and cockroaches.
Furthermore, Brits are seemingly becoming less fussy about their accommodation, with just under half of travellers saying they can do without creature comforts such as a shower and deodorant.
Nearly one in three men claimed they were happy going commando, compared to just 20 per cent of women, who displayed their more delicate nature.
Dawn McMullan at Norwich Union Travel Insurance said: 'While shows such as I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here often prompt people to try out what they have seen on TV, it's important to be aware of the risks involved and be properly insured.
'Kimberley Davies' unfortunate accident highlighted the need to be aware of the risks involved in taking part in adventure activities and, of course, to be properly insured in case anything does go wrong.'
All travellers are therefore reminded to take out adequate travel insurance before they go away.
While bush tucker grub may be tantalising, it might not agree with your tummy, and travel insurance should ensure that medical bills are taken care of.
