Brits are becoming a nation of stressed out workaholics, says a new report.

Swiftcover.com claims that 65 per cent of Brits are suffering ill health from the effects of stress. Of these victims, 54 per cent of women's stress manifested itself as a headache, while 60 per cent suffered disturbed sleep.

Over a quarter of men reported high blood pressure and 65 per cent of Brits believe that stress is having a negative impact on their well-being.

Traffic jams, call centres, queues and transport delays were the most cited causes of stress. Andrew Blowers, Chief Executive of swiftcover.com says that some of these stresses, such as call centres, can be avoided.

'Consumers do have a choice and no longer have to suffer - most financial products can now be entirely purchased online, cutting out the call centre experience and avoiding the resulting stress,' he commented.

If you are feeling stressed, why not take a mini break abroad, booking your travel insurance online of course!

A trip away might really lift your spirits and lower that blood pressure.
