Travelling around Thailand in a tuk tuk can be a precarious experience.
You sit white knuckled and gripping tightly to the seat, while your driver whizzes in and out of heavy Bangkok traffic as light heartedly as if it he is ballet dancing.
If you ask the driver to take you somewhere, for example the Grand Palace, you end up at a few gem stores, or being measured for a new suit.
Now the tourist board in Trang, southern Thailand has provided travellers with a new tuk tuk experience, the hua kop.
Thailand's latest taxi is a larger version of the tuk tuk, and can carry five passengers. The vehicle has a proper steering wheel instead of motorcycle-style handles and can reach speeds of up to 60mph.
Set sightseeing routes will take you to a number of places of interest, including the tourist attraction of former Thai prime minister Chuan Leekpai's house.
If you are jetting off for an exotic holiday, make sure you have adequate travel insurance.
When people are away, they sometimes take risks that they wouldn't at home (for instance, getting in a tuk tuk) and travel insurance should compensate you in case of injury while away.
