The world's most stylish resort has been named as Lunuganga, Sri Lanka, which is the former home of architect Geoffrey Bawa.

The exotic destination is surrounded by a cinnamon plantation and sculpted gardens.

Editors at Men.style.com set out to find the world's most chic getaway, based on design, aesthestics, 'cool' factor and proximity to restaurants, tourist attractions and shops.

A night at the resort will set travellers back £110 per night.

In second place was Whitepod 'Mobile' Ski Camp, which is basically a high-tech camping site and for £90 per night offers an alternative form of accommodation to the usual types in the Swiss Alps.

If winter sports aren't your thing, then third on the destination wish list is the Hotel Valley Ho in Scotsdale, Arizona, where Marilyn Monroe once stayed.

If you plan on checking out any of Men.style.com's top resorts, than make sure you have adequate travel insurance.

Whether winter travel insurance or normal holiday insurance, it is always important to protect yourself when going away.
