Brits are increasingly looking at investing in their very own place in the sun, according to a new poll.
The survey reminds those who are house hunting abroad to remember to take out adequate home insurance before leaving the UK, writes EuropinionsFinance.
France was the favourite destination, with one third of the survey's respondents stating they'd prefer a place there.
Spain came next on the desired location list, with 21 per cent of the vote, followed by Italy with around one in ten votes.
Buying abroad has become a popular past time with UK consumers, as a way to invest money and enjoy more time away.
However, with the frequent travelling, it is perhaps worth investing in an annual insurance policy to protect from accidents year round.
Joanne Field, American Express Insurance Services marketing manager, said: 'This is the second year running we have seen a rise in consumer confidence with our customers planning to travel 15 per cent more this year than last.
'This increase has been reflected in sales of travel insurance to date - which are up year on year. One key area of growth is those owning a second home abroad and buying annual travel policies to cover their insurance needs as they continue to visit their second home.'
