The Womad festival is taking place this weekend, and what better way to pass the Bank Holiday than to jet out to Singapore and experience some serious partying.

The uber-clean country hosts the festival that celebrates fusions of dance and song from all cultures in Fort Canning Park.

If anyone is thinking of visiting the beautiful city of Singapore, travel insurance should be a high priority.

Tropical travel can pose all sorts of health risks to the European traveller, and travel insurance should cover any medical-related expenses in the event of an emergency.

Travel cover will also protect belongings in case of theft or loss, and should also compensate in the event of a cancellation or delay.

The festival features dancers from Cuba, Algeria, France, South Africa, South Pacific, India, the UK, Italy and Madagascar in a fusion of the arts.

Womad was founded by UK musician Peter Gabriel 15 years ago, and the event has now spread around the world, giving diverse and alternative music a platform form which to perform.

The Womad festival takes place annually from August 26th - 28th.
