Business executives travel an average of 70 days per year, finds a new report.
The amount of travelling that a businessperson does throughout the year suggests that business travel insurance is a good idea.
A survey of 200 senior executives by analysts NOP has found that British executives take around 13 flights per year for business, with their average trip lasting 5.2 days.
Frequent international travel could make taking out annual business cover a good investment.
Cover protects travellers in the event of an emergency, and should reimburse expenses such as emergency flights home, or treatment for illness.
The recent flash floods in Mumbai, India's financial capital, left some executives in urgent need of flights home, which travel insurance would cover.
'Business travel is a notoriously painful experience,' commented WebEx's Sylvia Jensen.
'But technology can provide a viable alternative,' she suggested, and if meetings cannot be conducted by telephone, business travel insurance can also help to put minds at rest.
