Sometimes it is easy to miss questions when filling in or typing out a travel insurance application, and it can occasionally mean that customers are not fully covered.
Short breaks can sometimes be as hazardous as a six-month backpacking stint, and it is essential that people ensure they have declared all information on the insurance form in order to obtain the best travel insurance.
The Association of British Insurers (ABI) aims to reduce client non-disclosure by redesigning insurance forms, which will make it easier for customers to see what information is and isn’t legally required, writes ifaonline.
If the proposals go ahead, the applications will be designed to ask applicants to "disclose as much information as possible" and essentially remove need for individuals to decide whether information is relevant or irrelevant.
The changes mean that insurers will draw out of their customers all of the necessary information, leaving them properly covered for their trips to go and enjoy themselves.
